Ohio Counties

Ohio has 88 counties, each falling under one of two federal bankruptcy court districts. The Northern District covers the top 40 counties with offices in Akron, Canton, Cleveland, Toledo, and Youngstown. The Southern District serves the remaining 48 counties through Columbus, Cincinnati, and Dayton. All bankruptcy cases are filed in federal court, not at the county level. However, county clerk offices and local courts can help with related records like liens, judgments, and property filings.
